Intelligence Bureau under the Ministry of Home Affairs has released the IB Security Assistant/Executive Recruitment 2025 notification for 4,987 vacancies. Online applications will be accepted from July 26 to August 17, 2025. Candidates with Matriculation (10th pass) and not exceeding 27 years are eligible. IB Security Assistant 2025 Syllabus
The IB Security Assistant 2025 exam has three stages: Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 (Interview).
Tier 1 is an online objective exam with 100 multiple-choice question which needs to be completed in 60 minutes. It includes General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English Language and General Studies (20 questions each). There is 0.25 negative marking for wrong answers.
Tier 2 is a descriptive test which is of 50 marks. It is basically just to checks translation skills and spoken ability (for Security Assistant/Executive posts).
Tier 3 is an interview round which is of 50 marks just to check communication skills, confidence and awareness.
Candidates must clear each stage to move forward. The final selection is based on marks in Tier 1 and Tier 3.

- IB SA 2025 Selection Process
The selection of candidates for the post of Security Assistant will be done through a three-tier process:
Tier I- Objective Test: This is a computer-based test (CBT) that includes multiple-choice questions to test the candidate’s reasoning ability, general awareness, quantitative aptitude, and English language skills.
Tier II- Descriptive Test: This stage is designed to test candidates’ descriptive writing ability and their knowledge of the local language/dialect of the region they have applied for.
Tier III- Interview: Candidates who qualify Tier II will be called for a personal interview to assess their suitability for the post.

IB Security Assistant 2025 Salary
- The salary for IB Security Assistant is as per Pay Level 3.
- Basic Pay ranges from Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month.
- In addition to the basic pay, candidates receive Central Government allowances like:
- Dearness Allowance (DA)
- House Rent Allowance (HRA)
- Transport Allowance (TA)
- A Special Security Allowance of 20% of Basic Pay is also provided.
- Candidates are eligible for cash compensation for working on holidays (up to 30 days).
